The Black Canyon is a fully folding Damascus steel barber razor inspired by the sheer walls and banded stone of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. With no wood, bone, or resin competing for attention, the layered steel becomes the entire design.
Damascus patterning travels across both the blade and handle, creating flowing bands reminiscent of the canyon’s dark rock walls cut by lighter mineral lines. Each section of steel reveals its own shifting pattern, ensuring that no two razors look exactly alike.
Along the back of the blade, decorative spine filework forms a repeating series of carved ridges. The detail is especially striking when the razor is folded, where it runs along the top like the broken silhouette of a canyon rim. It is a subtle feature from a distance and one of the razor’s most memorable details up close.
The blade folds into its curved Damascus steel handle for a slim, traditional barber-razor profile. An extended tang provides a place for the finger to guide and control the blade while open. A fitted brown carry sheath with golden stitching protects the razor between uses.
