Dry Tortugas Damascus Tanto Knife with Turquoise Resin Handle
Clear island water meets bold, angular steel in Dry Tortugas—a full-tang Damascus knife inspired by the turquoise shallows surrounding one of America’s most remote national parks.
The handle is crafted from turquoise-inspired resin with dark veining and fragmented details throughout. Its shades of aqua and sea green recall shallow tropical water broken by coral, stone, and shifting shadows. The material captures the beauty of turquoise without being represented as natural stone, giving the knife a vivid coastal character with the stability and consistency of resin.
Three brass-colored tubes secure the handle scales and add warm contrast against the cool blue-green surface. The simple, straight handle profile allows the color and pattern of the resin to remain the focus while complementing the strong geometry of the blade.
The genuine Damascus steel blade displays flowing layered patterns from heel to point. Its modified American tanto profile features a long primary cutting edge that meets an angled forward edge at a defined secondary point. This geometry gives the blade its distinctive angular silhouette and creates two separate cutting surfaces. A straight spine and sharply sloped tip reinforce the knife’s clean, purposeful appearance.
Full-tang construction carries the patterned steel through the complete length of the handle, forming a continuous foundation beneath the resin scales. The exposed tang remains visible around the handle, making the construction part of the overall design.
Dry Tortugas brings together two striking forms of movement: the swirling layers of Damascus steel and the fractured turquoise pattern of shallow island water. A fitted brown sheath with dual retention straps is included for protected storage and secure carry.
The placement of the resin veining and Damascus pattern naturally varies, giving each knife an individually distinctive appearance.
