Painted Desert Katana – Forge-Finish Long-Blade Knife
The Painted Desert Katana takes the colors of the desert and stretches them across the longest blade in the Painted Desert collection.
Its extended, gently curved blade carries a dark forge finish across the steel, preserving a rugged texture that contrasts with the bright, polished cutting bevel below. The result resembles a desert ridgeline at dusk—dark earth rising above a final line of reflected light.
Red, orange, and black laminated wood runs the length of the full-tang handle, echoing the layered cliffs and sunlit stone of the Painted Desert. Deep finger contours shape the handle for a secure, natural grip, while brass-toned pins, slim accent bands, and a decorative mosaic pin add detail throughout its sweeping profile.
The long, single-edged blade draws inspiration from the silhouette of a katana while maintaining the raw, trail-worn character of the GTK collection. A fitted brown carry sheath with golden stitching and a securing retention strap protects the blade when stored or transported.
Bold in scale and rich in desert color, the Painted Desert Katana is made to command attention. It is a striking centerpiece for the collection and a powerful expression of the landscape that inspired it.
