Los Padres Pinecone Resin Full-Tang Fixed-Blade Straight Back Knife

Held in amber-colored resin like a fragment preserved from another time, Los Padres places a real pinecone at the center of a warm, richly detailed fixed-blade knife.

Each handle scale contains a cross-section of genuine pinecone suspended in translucent amber resin. The overlapping scales form a natural pattern of deep brown, burnt orange, and golden red, giving the handle an almost fossilized appearance. Light passes through the resin and reveals new details from different angles, making the pinecone structure the unmistakable focus of the piece.

Named after Los Padres National Forest, where conifer forests include Jeffrey, ponderosa, sugar, knobcone, and Coulter pines, the knife carries a physical piece of woodland character within its handle. Los Padres is especially known for the Coulter pine, whose massive cones are among the largest produced by any pine species.

Brass-colored pins and a matching lanyard tube complement the handle’s amber tones. Layered red and gold-toned spacers form a narrow transition between the resin scales and polished steel, adding another band of warmth to the design.

The polished blade features a classic straight-back profile. Its level spine provides a traditional silhouette, while the cutting edge curves gradually upward into the tip to create a long, useful belly. A decorative beveled swedge follows the upper portion of the blade, adding dimension without interrupting its clean profile.

Full-tang construction carries the steel through the entire handle, creating a solid continuous frame beneath the pinecone-and-resin scales. The handle is gently curved and shaped with a finger contour for a natural, comfortable profile.

A fitted brown sheath with red stitching and dual retention straps is included for protected storage and secure carry. The red thread echoes the fiery tones of the amber resin and completes the knife’s warm, woodland-inspired palette.
